The Jack and Bobbie Saubert Scholarship Fund

This Scholarship, established in 1993 by Jack and Bobbie Saubert,
recognizes the contribution to the Florence area by the Saubert family.
Dr. William Saubert, jack's grandfather, homesteaded near Cushman
in 1884 and his parents, tom and Emma Forsythe Sauber, were an
integral pare of the early days in Florence. jack was born in florence
and went through school here. He graduated as Valedictorian of his
class of eight in 1930. he went on to graduate from Oregon State and
Spent his career with the Forest Service.

The four-year scholarship is to be awarded on the basis of academic
achievement, leadership qualities, character and need, with the stress
on academic excellence. Recipients must be grauates or graduating
seniors from siuslaw High School and have been accepted at a college
or university.
